Understanding the platform fee

What Bakeable takes per sale, who actually pays it, and how it differs by plan.

Bakeable charges a percentage of each sale: 5% on Nano, 2.5% on Micro. The lower fee is most of what you are buying when you move up a plan.

The customer pays it, not you

The platform fee is added to the customer’s total at checkout. It does not come out of your price. A $10 loaf is still $10 to you — the fee sits on top, the way a service charge does.

That is what makes free Nano genuinely free: no monthly cost, no card on file, and nothing taken from your margin. If your volume makes 5% on every order add up to more than $29 a month, Micro is the cheaper arrangement — and the plan page does that comparison for you.

Separate from card processing

Your card processor charges its own fee — roughly 2.9% + $0.30 — and takes it before the money reaches your account. That is separate from Bakeable’s fee and is not something Bakeable sets or receives.
