Announcing a bake day to your subscribers
Sending the "orders are open" email and text, what it looks like, and why it is not automatic.
When a bake day opens for orders, you can announce it to the people who have asked to hear from you. It goes out by email and text, to your subscriber list.
You trigger it, deliberately
Announcements are not sent automatically when you publish. You send them by hand, from the dialog after publishing or from the pickup’s own page. That is on purpose — publishing and telling people are different decisions, and a bake day you published early is not one you wanted announced early.
What you see is what goes out
The preview in the dialog is rendered by exactly the same code that sends the message, so the thing you approve is the thing that arrives.
You cannot double-send it
If you click twice, or the connection drops halfway, each subscriber still gets one message. Bakeable keys every send to the pickup and the person, so a retry can queue twice and still only send once.
Announcements count as marketing, so they carry an unsubscribe link. That is a legal requirement for unsolicited-by-timing mail, not a setting.
What is not built yet
An automatic reminder shortly before a pickup — "your bread is ready tomorrow" — does not exist yet. The sending machinery is in place and the trigger is not, so do not plan around it.
